| Edinburgh Encyclopedia, Volumes I through XVIII, Parts 1 and 2, for a total of 36 volumes with an average of 11 illustrations (plattes) per book, Parker & Delaplaines's First American Edition, Philadelphia, 1832, William Brown Printer. This first American Edition is corrected and improved by the addition of numerous articles relative to the institutions of the American Continent. Bound in tan leather, size 11" x 9" and 1 1/2" thick (average). The general condition is excellent for the age of the books. The only visible aging are some water marks mainly on the illustration pages, and four volumes have small (maybe us to 1/2") pieces of leather missing on the spine. |
